New Mexico Reads (ebooks): Getting Started

The Basics

The New Mexico State Library is pleased to offer a new resource for New Mexicans -- New Mexico Reads.

This eBook collection primarily includes Southwest history and culture titles and fiction by New Mexico authors or set in the Southwest. New Mexico Reads also includes some books on racism in America, library and information science, national topics such as the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, and a selection of audiobooks. There is a small collection of books for children and tweens and teens.

  • You can check out up to five books at a time.
  • The checkout-period is 21 days. 
  • Renewals are allowed if there are no holds.  
  • Help is available from the left menu.

You can also download an app for reading on a mobile device. Visit your app store and search for the Boundless app. Once you have downloaded the app, search for New Mexico State Library and login.

Registration Information

Follow these steps to register for an account at New Mexico Reads.

  • Go to https://nmreads.boundless.baker-taylor.com/ng/view/library

  • Choose Sign in (upper right corner when on a computer)

 

  • The Login pop-up appears. Choose "Don't have a user name?" at the bottom of the page.

 

The Register pop-up appear and prompts you enter the full name of your state.

  • Enter New Mexico.

 

 

The final Register pop-up appears.

  • Enter your the Library Card ID (Username - not a number) and PIN/Password you would like to use.

  • Select a security question and answer.

  • Enter your display name and email address. (We strongly recommend that your display name matched your Username/Library Card ID in case you need to reset your password.)

  • Click Register.

  • Once you have registered you will be asked to select your library, this is the New Mexico State Library for everyone in New Mexico.


 

  • Then you will login with your Username/Library ID and your PIN/Password.

  • Start Browsing.
