Reading Guide for New Mexico History in 10 Minutes: Home

While many of us were in lock down during the Covid pandemic, New Mexico State Historian Rob Martinez created a series of videos to continue sharing information on New Mexico's history and culture. The series continued for some time after the world began to open up again and the videos are on Youtube for all to enjoy for the foreseeable future.

We have received so many comments from patrons of the New Mexico State Library about how interesting and helpful these videos are. This guide is our small addition to the work that Rob Martinez created. If you find the content in Rob's video interesting and want to learn more, please check out the suggested reading. This is not a comprehensive list of resources written about the subject. To investigate even more please  explore out our library catalog.

All of these items are located at the New Mexico State Library in Santa Fe. Most of them are available to check out and many are available via interlibary loan. If you can't come to Santa Fe, visit your local public library to request a copy.

Some of these books are available as e-books and e-audiobooks in our collection

NM Reads.
