Introduction to Interlibrary Loan

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) involves the borrowing and lending of books, articles, and audiovisual materials between libraries to supplement the reading and research needs of patrons. The New Mexico State Library provides ILL services to New Mexican rural, tribal, and correctional libraries. State employees and independent researchers can access state or Federal documents, books about Southwest history, genealogy, and culture.

The interlibrary loan department accepts ILL requests through ILLiad, which functions as an interface between the state library and our patrons. The ILLiad provides a record of past ILL requests and the status of current requests. State employees and New Mexico libraries can access ILL services through the ILLiad Logon.

Articles Plus

Articles Plus
New Mexico State Library provides scientific and scholarly journal articles via the Articles Plus program, which is accessible to New Mexico state employees, including those employed by state government agencies, the state legislature, or the state court system. Articles must be work-related and may be requested by email using your work email address via Articles.Plus@dca.nm.gov. Most requests should be fulfilled within 24 hours – often less – email us the citation information and we will return the article to you at your work email address.
