Disability Rights New Mexico – DRNM – is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to protect, promote and expand the rights of persons with disabilities. We are the designated protection and advocacy program for New Mexico, and as such we have authority under federal law to pursue legal, administrative and other remedies on behalf of persons with disabilities.
Legal Information First Tuesdays at Disability Rights New Mexico DRNM is holding a Drop-In Legal Clinic on the first Tuesday of every month at our office in Albuquerque from 2-5 p.m.
Our office is located at 3916 Juan Tabo Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111 near the intersection of Juan Tabo and Eagle Trail, just south of Eldorado High School. We have free, accessible parking. We are served by the ABQ RIDE bus routes 1 (Juan Tabo) and 5 (Montgomery). No need to call us ahead of time unless you need an accommodation, such as an ASL interpreter. Service Animals and trained Emotional Support Animals are always welcome at DRNM.
Our legal services are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will have an opportunity to speak with an attorney about your issue. Please bring with you any documents you have pertaining to your issue. (We may make photocopies while you are here).
We specialize in disability rights law, especially in the following areas:
What we don’t do: assistance with getting a guardian, criminal defense, family law, bankruptcy, immigration, wills and trusts, malpractice issues, personal injury, traffic violations, unemployment insurance, employment benefits, or Social Security denials.
If we are unable to assist you with your issue, we will provide you with referrals to other organizations or individuals who may be able to help.
